Celluma Light Therapy

Science-backed LED light therapy

Celluma light therapy is an effective skincare treatment that utilizes LED therapy, which involves applying specific wavelengths of light to the skin to achieve therapeutic benefits.

What is Celluma and how is it different from other lights?

Celluma is unique and quite unlike any other low-level light therapy device available today. Based on NASA research, Celluma delivers blue, red and near-infrared light energy simultaneously to safely treat a wide variety of conditions. Each wavelength is absorbed by different molecules that act as a signaling mechanism for different cellular processes. For example, some reduce inflammation and some kill bacteria, while others enhance localized circulation.

How does Celluma light therapy work?

Light Emitting Diode (LED) phototherapy is the application of light energy to tissue to obtain therapeutic benefits. The energy is used to improve cellular performance.  Phototherapy is known for its healing and anti-inflammatory properties and has a variety of applications across many medical fields. Research has shown that phototherapy can: increase circulation, accelerate tissue repair, decrease wrinkles, decrease inflammation, improve skin tone and wrinkles, texture and clarity, ease muscle and joint pain, stiffness, spasm and arthritis and kill acne bacteria, and much more.

Celluma light therapy devices apply specific wavelengths of light to the skin to aid in skincare improvement. Research indicates this therapy promotes skin healing by reducing inflammatory cells, increasing fibroblast proliferation, stimulating angiogenesis, forming granulation tissue, and enhancing collagen synthesis. Celluma light therapy is known for its ability to rejuvenate the skin, treat acne, reduce inflammation, and improve micro-circulation.

LED therapy can be used effectively as a standalone treatment or added to other services. A 30-minute treatment is recommended for maximum benefits. It's essential to apply the therapy on clean, dry skin since lotions, creams, and serums can hinder light penetration.

What does it mean by wavelengths of light?

LED light therapy has three commonly used wavelengths: blue, red, and near-infrared. Each wavelength serves a specific purpose. Blue light penetrates the epidermis and is effective at killing C. acnes bacteria. Red light reaches into the dermal layer and enhances collagen and elastin production through photobiostimulation of fibroblasts. Near-infrared light penetrates the deepest layers, increasing micro-circulation, reducing inflammation, and relieving pain. To effectively treat a client, the appropriate wavelength is selected based on the current condition of your skin.

Celluma testimonials

“Adult acne haunted me for three years; I tried every product on the market. Often I had temporary success with expensive topical treatments, but nothing lasted. Using the Celluma daily healed my skin. After two weeks, my cystic acne that spread across my face had diminished dramatically, eliminating deep painful blemishes. After six weeks, I did not have inflamed acne blemishes. I have had clear skin for a year now. Celluma gave me my life back!”

“Every acne patient we have treated has seen results with the first Celluma acne treatment and signed up for a package, or bought the Celluma to use at home. I have seen other blue light treatments, but nothing has given results like this with the first treatment. Here is what one patient with chronic cystic acne for years emailed, "I loved the light! I love how my skin feels/looks. The redness has subsided a bit and my skin (where it's clear) feels so smooth.” Dietary changes certainly help but take time and it is sometimes hard to get patient compliance, especially with teenagers. The Celluma offers a way for the patient to see real results immediately, and these patients refer others.”
